CENTER FOR COASTAL AND MARINE ENVIRONMENT (EMLM)

The Center for Coastal and Marine Environment brings together four laboratories split across three sites: Calais, Wimereux, and Dunkerque. The strategic fields of research of this center are physical and biological oceanology, geoscience, the physics and chemistry of the atmosphere, modeling, catalytic and supramolecular chemistry, toxicology, vegetable mycology and physiology, and the physics of materials.

CENTER FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, AND HEALTH (STS)

 The Center for Science, Technology, and Health includes five laboratories split across three sites: Calais, Wimereux, and Dunkerque. Its strategic fields of research are information, signal processing, algebra, complex and functional analysis, approximation, probability and statistics, the study of relations between bone tissues and medullar adiposity, the freshness and quality of aquatic products, sports, physical activity or inactivity and neuromuscular physiology.

CENTER FOR HUMAN AND SOCIAL SCIENCE

The Center for Human and Social Science includes 100 researchers and research professors at 7 laboratories. The disciplines it addresses are urban planning and development, anthropology, law, economics, geography, management, history, intercultural studies, foreign languages, writing, political science, sports science, and sociology.

The fields of study are more specific: innovation and entrepreneurship; maritime, coastal, and cultural history; medieval, classical, and modern literature; foreign languages and civilizations (English, Chinese, Germanic, Irish); organization performance and public decision-making; labor market regulations; recreational activities and their governance; urban transformation and regional development; coastal spaces and their social issues; and sustainable development.
