In a continuing effort to strengthen scientific research and promote international cooperation, the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO) has signed an international PhD cotutelle agreement with the Lebanese University (UL), the University of Artois (UArtois), and the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV). This initiative is part of the A2U alliance, aimed at attracting scientific talent and developing topical research themes with high technological potential.
The agreement, signed for a period of five years from the start of the 2025-2026 academic year, provides for the co-financing of ten doctoral scholarships per year. These scholarships are intended for Lebanese students with a DEA or Master’s degree, wishing to prepare their theses in key fields such as marine sciences, artificial intelligence, renewable energies, the environment and health.
This agreement illustrates the commitment of ULCO and its partners to strengthening their internationalization and attracting scientific talent. By offering high-level research opportunities, the universities in the A2U alliance contribute to developing the scientific skills of young researchers and strengthening the human resources of academic institutions.
The agreement comes into force on signature, and is renewable by signature of an amendment. It will continue to be in force until the doctoral students funded under the agreement have been awarded their doctorates, thus ensuring ongoing, stable support for young researchers.
By strengthening its links with international institutions and welcoming talented PhD students, ULCO is reaffirming its commitment to excellence in research and innovation, thereby contributing to the scientific influence of the region and beyond.
